Sheffield United vs Bristol City

Back a straightforward Blades success

Sheffield United and Bristol City meet once again. The pair faced one another twice during the regular season, then met for the two-legged Championship play-offs at the end of May.
Since their last meeting, both sides have changed managers, with Ruben Selles replacing club legend Chris Wilder and former Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber returning to the English game to take over at Ashton Gate.
Bristol City will be sick of the sight of the Blades, losing five of their last six meetings with the South Yorkshire outfit. They failed to score in the two play-off meetings, and their squad doesn’t look much stronger. They still possess an impressive midfield, and the addition of Emil Riis is a positive move, but they lack depth and are likely to fall back into midtable this time around.
Gerhard Struber has a unique style of play, and his squad may need a few weeks to acclimatise to his wishes.
It’s all change at Bramall Lane; however, they still possess a talented squad, and the additions of Louie Barry and Djibril Soumare look solid. They also have Gus Hamer and Tyrese Campbell, all of whom are potential matchwinners. Furthermore, Blades are always solid at home, and they will be looking to make a positive start under Ruben Selles, who has a reputation for being one of the game's brightest young coaches.
Psychologically, Sheffield United have the upper hand, and they should come flying out of the blocks here.
