Atalanta vs Roma

Back Ranieri's men to stretch their unbeaten sequence in Bergamo

Roma will aim to continue their remarkable ascent when they head to Bergamo to face Atalanta on Monday night. Claudio Ranieri has had a transformative effect on the squad and they have put themselves firmly back in the conversation when it comes to qualifying for European football. It feels like everyone is pulling in the same direction with veteran defender Mats Hummels hoping to secure Champions League football for his side prior to his imminent retirement.
The Giallorossi are unbeaten in 19 games and have kept six clean sheets in their eight. They are missing Lorenzo Pellegrini for this fixture and although his season may be over, Roma has plenty of players who should be able to deputise sufficiently.
Atalanta will be tough opposition. La Dea have enjoyed another fantastic season, defying expectations once again. They have a five-point advantage over the visitors and will be keen to avoid giving up any ground to their upwardly mobile rivals. Although they’ve won three of their last four, their home form has been far from exemplary and they’ve recently dropped points here against Lecce, Venezia and Cagliari. They also failed to score when hosting both Inter and Lazio.
This is a big game for both sides and I can see Roma maintaining their momentum.
