Bayer Leverkusen vs Borussia Dortmund

Back the in-form Guirassy to continue his hot streak

Dortmund kept their European hopes alive with an eye-catching 4-0 victory over Wolfsburg last weekend. BVB can also still quality for the UEFA Champions League and they will need to win both of their remaining two matches to give themselves any chance of securing their passage.
Dortmund’s form has significantly improved over the last four or five weeks with Niko Kovac opting for a back three. This shift in formation has yielded five wins in six and a very creditable 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich. The only occasion in which Kovac reverted back to four at the back, they were battered by Barcelona in the Champions League.
Serhou Guirassy has also hit a purple patch lately with the Guinea-born striker having netted seven times across his last four matches. He’s looking sharp and is full of confidence and is paying back his fee of 18.5m euros.
Leverkusen will not be easy opponents, although Xavi Alonso’s men have already secured second place and cannot be caught by any of the chasing pack. They’ve drawn three of their last four games and were forced to come back from two goals down last weekend against Freiburg.
Although the hosts don’t concede many goals on their own patch, they rarely keep a clean sheet when Dortmund come to town and the visitors should have enough attacking impetus to get on the scoresheet. Serhou Guirassy scored in the reverse fixture and it’s hard to back against a man who is oozing confidence in front of goal.
