Brentford vs Chelsea

Chelsea make the short hop to the GTech Community Stadium on Saturday night for a West London derby with Brentford.

The Blues bounced back from their opening weekend draw with Palace to record successive victories, albeit with some assistance from VAR in their previous fixture. Enzo Maresca has a sizeable squad, although there are one or two injury concerns with Liam Delap expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks. Cole Palmer is reportedly back in training; however, the Chelsea boss may opt to ease him back in gently.

Nevertheless, the Blues have looked handy going forward, recording an xG of 6.1 across their last two matches, whilst conceding an xGA of 2.4. Those numbers suggest that Maresca's men are willing to attack with gusto, yet they are far from watertight at the back, and they were lucky to keep a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge last time out.

Brentford have been difficult to assess so far under Keith Andrews. They've looked far too open in their two away games, yet at home, they were reasonably comfortable and largely restricted Villa to efforts from range.

Nevertheless, they aren't likely to enjoy the benefit of wasteful finishing from the opposition here, and a second successive home clean sheet feels unlikely. Vitaly Janelt may still be a couple of weeks away from starting games; however, there have been very few injury issues reported within the squad.

Each of the last three meetings between these sides have ended all-square, including a memorable 2-2 draw, and this game could be equally as entertaining as both teams search for West London bragging rights.
