England Women vs Spain Women

Back Spain to prevail with both teams getting on the scoresheet

The Women's Euros concludes in St. Jakob-Park in Basel on Sunday evening and is a repeat of the 2023 final with England and Spain renewing rivalries once again.
Spain needed extra time to see off Germany in the semi-finals of this competition, yet they’ve had a relatively trouble-free passage so far, and they will be full of confidence heading into this contest.
They have been able to easily create chances and have the highest xG at the tournament. All of their games have seen them register a minimum of 16 efforts on goal, and they should be able to find a way past England’s defence, which has looked a little slow at times. Spain’s midfield should also be able to dominate this contest with Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmati and Patri Guijarro looking very comfortable in possession, and always ready to create chances.
England’s route to the final has been fairly dramatic, with several late comebacks and late drama. They became the first side in the history of this competition to come back from 2-0 down and progress, and they needed an extra-time spot-kick to knock Italy out of the tournament just a few days ago.
Sarina Weigman has used her bench to devastating effect, and the introductions of Michelle Agyemang and Chloe Kelly have been able to turn the game in England’s favour. Whether they can have the same impact against Spain is up for debate.
Spain could be too good for England, although the Lionesses will fight all the way through, and this should be a fascinating final.
