Inter vs Como

Back goals at both ends during an entertaining contest in Lombardy

Inter have the small matter of the Champions League final on the horizon, however, they must put that distraction to one side on Friday night when they travel to Lombardy to face in-form Como.
With Napoli holding a single-point advantage at the top of Serie A, Simone Inzaghi’s men simply have to collect maximum points in this tie and hope that Cagliari can do them a favour at Stadio Diego Maradona.
Inter are looking to retain the Scudetto and they need to keep up their end of the bargain, putting pressure on the league leaders. The Nerrazurri have only won two of their last five Serie A matches and conceded a late goal to drop points against Lazio last weekend. Away from home, they’ve won just twice since January 26th and have kept just two clean sheets in their last eight.
Como will not want the season to end. They are the division’s form side, collecting the joint-highest number of points (alongside Atalanta) across the last five matches. They were beaten easily at the San Siro in the reverse fixture, however, they’re unbeaten here in their last six and have conceded just four times across that period.
Cesc Fabregas’ men have nothing to play for, however, they’re in a good place and several players will be looking to earn new contracts or put themselves in the shop window. They have already beaten Napoli (2-1) here and lost by the same scoreline (1-2) to AC Milan, Atalanta and Juventus.
Inter’s nerves will be jangling, however, they have plenty of firepower and should be able to edge to victory, albeit without a clean sheet.
