Manchester City vs Bournemouth

Manchester City were beaten in the FA Cup at the weekend and they won’t have long to dwell on that disappointment as they are thrust straight back into Premier League action on Tuesday night. The dethroned Premier League champions have endured a disappointing campaign so far, with only the Community Shield to show for their efforts. Nevertheless, victory on Tuesday night will allow them to clamber above Aston Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle into third place. It will put them into the driving seat heading into the final set of fixtures when they will travel to mid-table Fulham.

City have been in much better form recently and are unbeaten in eight PL games. They’ve won four consecutive home matches, including an impressive 2-1 success over Aston Villa.

Bournemouth’s season isn’t over yet. They have a small squeak of securing European football and qualifying for the Conference League. They will need to keep winning and hope that Chelsea beat Betis in the Conference League final at the end of the month. Andoni Iraola’s men have won just three of their last 13 games which isn’t particularly impressive, however, they were unlucky against Aston Villa last weekend, are unbeaten in five of their last six, and have been defeated in just one of their last 11 away games. The Cherries are handy on the road, and they usually find the back of the net. Only Palace, Leicester and Liverpool have managed to keep them off the scoresheet on their travels so far this season.

This isn’t likely to be a high-scoring match, yet both teams have a good chance of finding the back of the net.
