Troubled Spurs should play their part in an absorbing and high-scoring contest by the Thames this weekend.

Spurs make the short trip to Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon, with Igor Tudor searching for his first victory since replacing Thomas Frank. He’ll be hoping that his side can bounce back from last weekend’s mauling by North London rivals Arsenal, although visits to this venue are rarely straightforward. 

Despite occupying a mid-table spot and having little to play for, Fulham tend to frustrate Spurs and are unbeaten in the last three head-to-heads here in West London. Marco Silva’s side were also victorious when the sides met at the end of November. They come off the back of a confidence-boosting victory at Sunderland last weekend. 

Neither side has covered itself in glory when it comes to defending recently, and it’s hard to imagine anything other than an open and end-to-end 90 minutes here.

Across the last four matches, Spurs have conceded an xGA of 9.2. Across the last four weeks of Premier League action, only rock-bottom Wolves have a worse record (xGA of 10.3) of giving up chances to the opposition. 

Perhaps more worryingly for Spurs, three of the games in that sample have been staged at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Although Fulham’s defensive numbers make far better reading, the Cottagers haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 11 matches and are far from assured at the back. In the same period, they conceded an xGA of 6.6 and failed to hold onto a one-goal lead when hosting Everton at the start of the month. 

Spurs lie precariously above the drop zone, with just a four-point gap separating them and West Ham, who occupy the final relegation spot. They are the only Premier League side yet to record a victory in 2026, and given their recent record at this stadium, that barren run may not end this weekend. 

They have a crippling injury list, which hasn’t helped their cause, and will be missing Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus, Rodrigo Bentacur, James Maddison, Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies, with Christian Romero suspended for this fixture. Joao Palhinha has been deputising at the back and will come up against his former employers on Sunday afternoon. 

Their away matches have averaged three goals per game, and the constant chopping and changing has not helped. They looked better going forward last weekend, yet they made numerous mistakes at the back and allowed the Gunners to fire in 20 shots, with an xG of 2.21.

Fulham ended their three-game losing streak with an unexpected victory at the Stadium of Light last weekend. They have far fewer injury complaints, yet they routinely concede goals and have managed just a single clean sheet at this venue since November 22nd. They aren’t afraid to attack teams, putting two past both Liverpool and Chelsea and losing 5-4 to Manchester City in a topsy-turvy affair at the beginning of December. 

They have produced an xG of 7.4 across their last four matches and had 14 shots at the Etihad despite drawing a blank.

Over 2.5 Goals is predictably odds for this game, although at 71/100, it is perfectly backable. We’re dipping into the Asian Totals market with BetPlay and are recommending back Over 3 at 61/50. This would have paid out in four of the last seven Spurs games, and you would have received a refund on your stake in a further two. Fulham have scored 2+ goals in each of the last two meetings between these sides in West London, and it’s hard to imagine Spurs drawing a blank. Spurs have conceded 2+ goals in each of their last seven, and they have to approach this game with an attack-minded approach, as they simply cannot keep clean sheets.
